It becomes priceless

As a kid I would always be on the look out for the next adventure and I had this huge crush envy on Indiana Jones. My inner kid was in heaven when I went on the expedition to Hang En cave. It was a 10 hours bus ride, followed by a 11km hike crossing the jungles of Phong Nha National Park. As you get close to the cave I felt so humble. I realized how small I am. How small my problems are. How little concerns are worthless and that once I am buried under the ground there is nothing more of a treasure than the memories I will carry with me… Night swimming, underground camping and waking up to the sun rising through the cave entrance only left me even more eager to do some more caving. Then another 11km on the way back, and another 10 hours bus ride back to Hanoi – so worth it!

Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world. ― Gustave Flaubert
