I have arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam and this will be my home for the next 2 months. It has definitely been a cultural shock. I am still adapting to my new surroundings. Traffic is chaotic – which is not big news, I already expected that – but I can physically feel the hit that the noise, pollution and life in a big city has taken on my body. And yet I am thrilled on being here, and amazed how time has been flying while I just try to absorb every bit of it.
Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things: air, sleep, dreams, sea, the sky – all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.― Cesare Pavese
