Feeling at home in Hanoi has been a challenge. It ain’t tropical, quiet or clean. I will stay here for 2 months so I don’t want to be in a hotel. I have been hunting for apartments for a while, jumping on the backseat of the realtor’s motorbikes and learning about each neighborhood.
In the midst of the chaos a couple of things have been truly a blessing! One is learning that Uber exists in this city, as I am tired of being ripped by local taxi drivers. Another is The Fitness Village where you get to practise yoga inside of what used to be a temple. Then there is Syrena Mall where you can find a lot of american products – even peanut butter and Seventh Generation’s cleaning products. And the best part is Yakushi Spa where I get massages twice a week.
Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart. – Unknown
